Outer radius feet Radius of the whole labyrinth from center to outer wall. Center diameter (fraction of total) × D Classic Chartres is ~0.25 (center = ¼ of total diameter). Wall (brick) thickness inches Standard US modular brick width = 3⅜″. Brick length (laid end-to-end) inches Standard US modular brick length = 7⅜″.

Stake-out radii

Distances from the center of the labyrinth to each brick circle. Drive a stake at the center, tie string at each radius, walk the circle, drop a marker every couple of feet.

The exact U-turn pattern of an authentic Chartres labyrinth is intricate — lay out the concentric circles first, then mark the turns from a Chartres reference image when you place the radial brick segments.
