Quote of the evening: “I will now do a medley of my hit.”
(Actually last night was a great set. Maybe 200 people in the audience, and RDL is a small venue. First time he’s played out since 1988, and first time he’s done a one-man show since 1981. He’s tuning up for a tour…)
I saw him in a similar small venue when I used to live in Raleigh, NC in 1988. He was awesome!
Ooh. I love Thomas Dolby. I have all his albums…even the ones he released way past his hit 🙂 The Flat Earth is a Desert Island Disc for sure.
I saw him lecture on the history and theory of electronic music at RPI in 1988. He was funny, brilliant, entertaining and just great fun.
He had a great line on VH1 or something about his ‘one hit.’ He said ‘sure I’m a one hit wonder, but that’s one more than most of you!’
